About This Provider

Adam B. Wiggins, MD is a urologist with Colorado Urology serving patients out of the St. Anthony Hospital Campus office.

Dr. Wiggins grew up on a farm in central Illinois but spent many summers hiking and camping in Colorado, which grew his love of the state from a young age. He completed his undergraduate studies at Illinois Wesleyan University, where he majored in Biology and graduated summa cum laude. He then attended Rush Medical College, graduating with honors, and went on to complete his urology residency at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center. During residency, Dr. Wiggins received multiple awards, including a distinguished researcher award as well as recognition as the top scoring resident on the annual mock board exam three years in a row.

Throughout his training, Dr. Wiggins focused on the full breadth of general urology, with special interest in robotic and minimally invasive approaches to urologic cancers, as well as surgical treatments for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), including Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP). He also developed strong clinical experience in the management of kidney stones, urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, and pelvic organ prolapse. Dr. Wiggins enjoys performing a wide variety of procedures and value having the flexibility to tailor treatment to each patient’s unique needs.

Dr. Wiggins has had the opportunity to present his research at national and international conferences, including the American Urological Association (AUA) national meeting, regional AUA section meetings, and the World Congress of Endourology. His academic work has spanned topics such as surgical outcomes of HoLEP, sexual dysfunction, minimally invasive surgical techniques, and biochemical markers in urologic malignancies.

His care philosophy centers on patient-focused, evidence-based decision making. He believes that while urologic problems can be life-altering, they are often just one part of a person’s broader health story. He works to understand each patient’s priorities, background, and overall health so that we can arrive at the best plan of care together. His goal is always to treat the person—not just the condition.

Dr. Wiggins is a member of the American Urological Association, my regional AUA section, and the American Medical Association. Outside of work, Dr. Wiggins enjoys spending time with his wife and their golden retriever. They love getting outdoors and taking full advantage of all that Colorado has to offer—especially hiking, mountain biking, and skiing.
