Financial Information

Chesapeake Urology participates with all major insurance plans, including Medicare and medical assistance. A dedicated staff member from our office will begin the initial interview with you concerning your health care coverage and then forward your information to a patient advocate in our patient accounting department who will contact you to go over details.

Our counselors will work with you on the financial arrangements for your physician's bills, surgical treatment, radiation treatment and other medical expenses. When patients need help with health care coverage and financial arrangements, we provide counseling and resources through a variety of means.

We will act as a partner to guide and support each patient in making financial arrangements and, when necessary, will assist you in determining if funding for treatment is available. We coordinate our efforts with the patient navigator.

Medical Financial Assistance

When patients are in need of medical financial assistance, we connect them with resources at the Maryland Department of Social Services and assist them through the qualifying process. For those patients in need who have chronic illnesses in addition to their prostate cancer, we work with non-profits, such as the American Cancer Society, to find funding. If a patient's primary insurance does not cover all their treatment, we explore resources to find secondary funding to bridge the gap.

We do whatever is possible to provide support through the financial process to alleviate your stress so that you can focus on your treatment and getting better.
