Chesapeake Urology Adds To Presence In Anne Arundel County With Opening of New Annapolis Office, Ambulatory Surgery Center

Owings Mills, MD (March 5, 2021) — Chesapeake Urology has added a new location in Anne Arundel County with the recent opening of its newest office and Summit Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) located at 810 Bestgate Road in Annapolis, MD. In addition to the new Annapolis location, Chesapeake Urology has an office and ASC in Hanover, MD, expanding Chesapeake Urology’s ability to serve more patients with a broad scope of comprehensive care within the county.

The new, modern office space (Suite 235) features large, comfortable patient exam rooms, physician office space, areas for a private consultation, and minor office procedures as well as a design that encourages a smooth patient flow and enhanced comfort. The space includes a state-of-the-art outpatient surgery center (Suite 200) featuring the most advanced operating room technology and equipment as well as comfortable procedure and recovery rooms for outpatient surgical procedures. All patient, staff, and waiting areas have been equipped with added distance and safety features including mandatory masks, special visitor policies, and hand sanitizer stations to follow COVID-19 protocols.

Adam Kern, MD: Director, Chesapeake Urology for Children; One of the foremost fellowship-trained pediatric urologists in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Richard Levin, MD, FACS: Dr. Levin sees adult patients for general urology with a focus on minimally invasive treatments for prostate cancer, kidney stone disease, and minimally invasive treatment for BPH including Rezum and Greenlight® laser therapy.

Katherine Smentkowski, MD: Dr. Smentkowski practices general urology and is fellowship-trained in minimally invasive and robotic surgery for prostate, bladder, and kidney cancer.

Diane Schmidt, NP: Diane is a certified family nurse practitioner who sees patients for overactive bladder, incontinence, recurrent urinary tract infections, enlarged prostate/BPH, and kidney stones.
