About This Provider

Dr. Safiullah earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from North Park University in Chicago before graduating from The Chicago Medical School. But it was not until he started a research fellowship at the University of California-Irvine (UC Irvine) that his interests in endourology and laparoscopy began to flourish.

“I worked as a fellow of the prestigious Leadership and Innovation Fellowship Training (LIFT) at UC Irvine under the tutelage of Dr. Ralph Clayman and Dr. Jaime Landman,” said Dr. Safiullah. “I was able to develop a virtual reality research program for preoperative planning in treating urologic disorders including kidney stones, tumors, etc.”

Since that time, Dr. Safiullah has maintained a clinical interest in these areas while developing academic interests across other areas of urology. This diversity of interests resulted in having his work published in the Journal of Endourology, World Journal of Urology and other prestigious publications.

“My prior training has helped me to hone my eye for innovative approaches to ensure my patients receive cutting-edge urologic care,” he added.

Dr. Safiullah completed an internship in General Surgery and a residency in Urological Surgery at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. He is a member of the Tri-Beta Honor Society and the American Urological Association and speaks fluent Hindi and Urdu. He is currently seeing patients in the Mesa office.
Dr. Safiullah focuses on benign urologic disease and keeps his treatment goals simple – he wants each patient to feel better physically, emotionally, and mentally upon leaving his office.
