About This Provider

Dr. Michael N. Ferrandino is a widely published physician who comes to Colorado Urology’s Westminster office with an impressive array of experience and a successful track record of treating patients with a variety of urological conditions.

Dr. Ferrandino graduated from the New York University School of Medicine in 2001 and worked as a resident at SUNY Downstate Medical Center until 2007. Before joining Colorado Urology, he spent 14 years at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC as an Endourology Fellow, also serving as an Associate Professor in the Division of Urology. He became Director of Minimally Invasive Urologic Surgery in 2012, later holding additional positions including Endourology Fellowship Program Director and Vice Chief of Education, among others.

He is credited as an author of over 50 scholarly-reviewed articles and was invited to deliver lectures at prominent events including the World Congress of Endourology.

A member of numerous professional organizations including the American Urologic Association and the Society of Urologic Oncology, Dr. Ferrandino is also the past vice president of the North Carolina Urological Association. His awards and honors include two ‘Best Presentation’ commendations from the World Congress of Endourology – one for Best Scientific Presentation in Shanghai, China in 2010 and another for Best Endourology Presentation in Chicago in 2018.

But for all his accomplishments and accolades, at the heart of Dr. Ferrandino’s philosophy remains his patient-centered practice of urology.

“Our primary goal should be to educate the patient on the available data and management options, before working with them to come to a mutually agreeable treatment or management plan.” he said. “Many urologic conditions do not have a single means of treatment or management, so incorporating patient goals and values is critical to creating a strong doctor-patient relationship and optimizing outcomes.”
