After graduating from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research Engineering, Dr. Wang completed medical school at SUNY Upstate Medical University before completing a General Surgery internship and a Urology residency at SUNY Buffalo in Buffalo, NY. While in medical school at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY, he was recognized with the John B. and Henrietta E. Simeone Scholarship, presented to students who demonstrate academic excellence as well as extraordinary compassion in surgery.

A member of the American Medical Association and the American Urological Association, Dr. Wang is a published author on topics including the outcomes of partial nephrectomy in young patients with renal cell carcinoma when compared to radical nephrectomy, and how the use of neuraxial vs. general anesthesia affects outcomes during transurethral resection of the prostate. His work was published in the Journal of Urologic Oncology in 2017 and in the Gold Journal of Urology.
