Dr. Aye Lwin has been published repeatedly on topics ranging from benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) to renal cell carcinoma and erectile dysfunction. Dr. Lwin’s wealth of experience and a comprehensive academic background makes him a valuable addition to the team at Arizona Urology Specialists.

Dr. Lwin graduated with bachelor’s degrees in chemistry and molecular and cellular biology as a James Scholar from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. He proceeded to attend and complete medical school at Southern Illinois University in Springfield, IL, before moving to Arizona to complete his Internship in General Surgery and Residency in Urology at the University of Arizona in Tucson. During his residency, Dr. Lwin received the Dr. George W. Drach Award presented to those who exhibit extraordinary compassion in urologic care.

Dr. Lwin is a member of the American Urological Association (AUA), the Western Section of the AUA, and the Arizona Urological Society. He has made his mark in the field early in his career, published in Urology, Journal of Endourology, and Clinical Genitourinary Cancer among other prestigious journals. Other career highlights include multiple poster and podium presentations in sectional, national, and international conferences.

Dr. Lwin is fluent in Burmese and looks forward to utilizing his expertise and experience to treat each patient with compassion and highly individualized care. His interests include spending time with his significant other and family, soccer, skiing, cycling, technology, and gastronomy.
